We are thrilled to celebrate Kelly McGowan, Policy and Membership Engagement Manager at the Institute, for being recognized with an award honoring her leadership and commitment to community health.
Kelly, along with her nonprofit, Transform 314, received the 2025 Spark Prize from the Missouri Foundation for Health. This prestigious award recognizes grassroots leaders advancing health equity with bold and collaborative solutions.
At the Institute, Kelly plays a central role in shaping and advancing our policy and advocacy priorities during the state legislative session. She also leads efforts to support members of the Missouri Center for Public Health Excellence, coordinating communications and meetings that keep Missouri’s public health community connected and engaged.
Her leadership outside of the Institute reflects that same dedication. Through Transform 314, Kelly works to build healthier, more equitable communities by creating space for conversations on health, supporting local advocates, and sharing clear, trustworthy information through initiatives like Straight Facts.
Please join us in congratulating Kelly on this well-deserved honor. Her vision, energy, and passion for community are making a lasting impact both here in Missouri and beyond.
